Independence (Relaxing lock down measures) Day

Saturday

July 4th Independence (relaxing of lock down measures) day,

so what will we all be doing from next Saturday?

A night in the pub, a two household bubble can mix,

sit in the beer garden, do not socialise out of your six,

Sunday

Attend a morning service at your place of worship,

back in time to clear the garage and a trip to the tip.

Invite the family around to share Sunday lunch,

a two household bubble make such a happy bunch.

Monday

Book a hairdressers appointment for a cut and blow,

remember not to chat about having nowhere to go.

Gyms and pools are closed, the nail and beauty bars,

workout classes on hold along with a day at the spa.

Tuesday

An educational trip to a museum or gallery of art,

it won't be too crowded, enabling two metres apart.

Relax and chat over lunch in your favourite cafe,

get the brochures out, begin to plan your next holiday.

Wednesday

A mid week day out, book ahead, avoid the queue,

see fish in the aquarium and the animals at the zoo.

Dine out at a fancy restaurant, oh what a treat,

imagine not having to cook what you want to eat.

Thursday

A day out to the theme park or to the fun fair,

go wild in the woods, fly a zip wire through the air.

Take a picnic for the journey or get a drive through,

only if you have the patience to wait an hour or two.

Friday

Theatres and concert halls will open but no live shows,

when live performance will be allowed nobody knows.

Night clubs will still be closed, along with the casino

time to get your dabber ready, its eyes down for bingo.

Great to have new freedom, but remember we must all comply

some social distancing measures and hygiene rules still apply.

An even more confusing and newer normal is on its way

keep to the rules, stay alert, stay safe, keep the virus at bay.

◄ Happy Fathers Day
