Nothing more

Dump the  bodies on Eton’s playing fields,

Those with the power are so-completely unreal.

Pretending to a competence they just do not have

Asking us to believe in them, to rally round the flag.

It’s the poor, who, as ever, have to pay the price

The hypocrisy of the left is just to pretend to care,

The hypocrisy of the right is just never to be there:

To offer care to the living, or respect to the dead.

We all have a duty to be kinder, everyday,

To all sorts of people, in all sorts of ways,

To listen to the demented, to feed the poor,

Just to realise the grandeur of being alive

To know in your heart, there is nothing more.

Thank you Cathy, Jennifer, Po, Mark, Tom and Abdul. I so much want to believe that HMG has managed this plague well, but I just don't.

Why not in the House he was in? Might be more of a shake-up!! He had a near miss, I gather.
Agree with Abdul absolutely about the last verse.

John

Politics _ the right and left encapsulated in a nutshell. Hypocrisy starkly exposed.

The pleas in the last stanza is nobly inspiring.
