hiroshima

From Enola Gay the mother of horror comes the little boy of terror
a bomb which falls from the sky
600 metres above ground it explodes as a fierce fireball
280 metres in diameter 1 second after the explosion it slams into a population of 350000 civilians
at the hypocentre its 3000 to 4000 degrees celsius
people are incenerated
raditon rays burst out and ashes and black rain fall from the sky
and burn all they touch

I saw the charred remains of a childs tricycle
shinichi tetsuni aged 3
he died that night
august 6th 1945
i do not want to contemplate the horror and agony suffered

it is over or is it?
nuiclear bombs are more powerful than back then
and still the fear lingers
but from the fingers of death the city of hiroshima rose again
and in Japan they say if you make a thousand paper cranes
then it will give you one wish
my wish would be
peace for this whole world for all time
for your children and mine

◄ my superstitions are eating me whole

Visceral images which are hard to consider, but necessary to remember. Well done.
