Thinking of you, mum

I watched an episode

of some tv show the other day,

an old lady passed away

while people looked on.

It reminded me

of the day you died,

not so old,

you were still so young,

too young to die,

too soon to leave us,

and I remember

being by your side

watching your body

makes its final fragile moves,

your breath was weak,

and the weakness won.

I cried, and a bit of me

died with you that day.

Jon,
Your poem left me tearful. Mothers are like that when they are around us, we can't even imagine that they would leave us one day. It was one such day when she left me too and now ...
Part of me is gone with her
And the rest will rot in her absence.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Dorothy and Po. It was a long time ago, but memories come flooding back when triggered by events in our lives.

Really a sad write!! May her soul rest in peace ?

A great poetic tribute though?
