The Story Continues (Another Flower Gone pt. II)

The story continues

I could not let the flower alone

As' oft my folly

I decided to stay

And keep it company

And bask in it beauty

Until the day

That I could lay claim

To the beautiful dame

But from afar it had to be

For the flower was far from my home

And to transplant such a creature is beyond my skill

And I cannot transplant myself still

So from a...

Another flower gone

Welp, I was siting here trying to think how to improve this poem and I cant think of a better approach then straight honesty so here you go

One night as I sat

Preparing for another night of drink alone

I receive a call

from friend in need

To stave the loneliness his wife called a companion

And now they had a problem

The husband was back and the friend was there

And to the weeds amongst my garden

Of sailors and ships

Of triumph and whips

Of victory and downfalls

Of experience and pitfalls

The Hermit

The hermit lives alone

No computer, no internet, no phone

He lives up there in his wood

Having left the city for good

Long ago when things were new

And his dislike of society grew

His wife was gone

His kids moved on

And so the hermit went

To his wood where he has spent

Day after day

Building in his way

A place not only to survive

But also to thrive

For bei...

The Flower

Once when I was young I chanced upon a flower

Wild and free it was the most beautiful thing I had seen

And I wanted it for my own

To care for this flower

To show it off to the world

This beautiful flower that was my own

Through spring and summer

I  watered, I watched and I helped it to grow

And the flower basked me in its glory as it did so

But I had to le...
