Of Lines And Lives
Each path we walk, it forges something,
a step within a stair.
A line part of a rhythmic pattern
and we’re unaware.
We’re so wrapped up in what’s before us,
like it’s all there is.
As back and forth we pace, uneasy.
I promise you this -
The time will come when you will see,
the scales will disappear.
In that moment look around you,
it will all be clear.

Choices
Two birds left the nest after they had learned to fly,
setting off to find what the world has got to give.
Each had what it takes to ascend into the sky,
but each bird also had different reasons why they lived.
One lived a life to soar above, his days spent in the air.
The other lived to gather in and build a stable home.

Depression and heartache and yearning -
common throughout all the years,
general amongst all the masses,
driven by so many fears.
It’s truly the struggle of ages,
despite born of mansion or cave.
Is life the thing that you’re living,
or is it life that you crave?
It's tied to a question so simple -
just what do you live your life for?
