and recognised the feeling of being safe in your arms,

A Thought for the Future
What a terrifying thought
But that’s nothing I need to think about now, I’m so young- she’s so young
That’s something for the future
Something to think about
When I’m all grown up and mature,
When I know how to do my taxes and pay my bills, how to choose my insurance plans and which house to rent
What meal to cook for dinner which jacket to wear for winter

One Day
One day I will be able to write the beautiful poem
I have always longed to write.
I will no longer squeeze my brain dry,
only to churn out a
single,
pathetic,
cliched line,
desperately trying to write something, anything,
on the piece of paper sitting hopelessly on my desk,
light, blank and waiting
to be painted with words, loving as Romeo and Juliet.
