Shhh...It's Sundays First Birthday and scary Hallowen Special.

Shhh returns, slightly scarier, slightly darker, but full to the brime of performers, poets, muscians and talent. The floor is open so if you fancy sharing a slice of yourself come and sign up early to avoid not playing.

Strap on your witches hat, pop on the fake blood and have a look at the guest artists for this month:
...
Lucy English:Best known the first performance poet to win the 1996 Bristol Poetry Slam and then going on to tour worldwide,Lucy has performed her poetry at several international festivals . Her poetry offers insight, humour and beautiful observations and has been published in a variety of anthologies. In 2006 she was artistic director of Apples and Snakes Poetry Tour, Exposed. In 2007, she was a finalist in the first BBC Radio 4 Poetry Slam.

Sally Jenkins: Likes: Eaves dropping in bus queues, earwigging on bar stools, obsessively reading TV quick even though she hasn't got a television, and scrimpimg and saving for all the cider. These are the main ingredients in her poem writing recipe process. The poems usually come out like whirly, jumpy, lyricial peeks at the funny things people do, and they try to make space for tiny observations of the unusual and terrifying and magnificent things that go on between people everyday.

Alex Gear- Alex Gear is an accomplished Bristol based Musician,
writing and performing as a Solo artist. His musical background is mainly based on his father, who has brought him up surrounded with various
instruments, encouraging him to continue with his passion for playing the guitar and singing from a young age. Prepare yourself for the lyricaly rich and beautiful sounds of one of Shhh's faviroutes.

Madame Hatter- A Crazy, French, whirlwind of a man. Dolled up, live and unafraid, this ecentric performer will be combining poetry, music, language lessons and cross dressing to bring you a performance you will never forget.

Jennifer Walters- A performance poet who enjoys the smell of cut grass and the feeling of shutting her eyes in a moving car. She dislikes pretentious poems and aubergines. Her poetry will make your brain salivate and your brain think.

Agatha Nagual- A snazzy performance poet, speaking from the heart and focusing on matters deep enough to move even the most buried of minds. This poet will uncover matters of the philosophical and spiritual ; enlightening and leaving you well nourished and inspired.

Krantz and Francis Mary- Krantz & Frances Mary are a freshly formed Bristol based act, comprising Krantz’s exceptional production and beatboxing skills, and Frances Mary’s memorable songs, delivered with effortless soulful expression. Now, these two have come together to form a truly original act. The combination of meaningful lyrics, memorable melodies, dynamic keys and funky metronomic beatbox, makes these performers one to watch and one to remember.

Way Jose- Jose, from El Patio Primo, one of Bristol’s finest bands, branches out solo to serenade our ears with some fine Spanish sounds. One man, one guitar, one lovely, kind face. What more could you ask for?
