Hello Fatima,

Your poem 'mother' was very moving to me. It made me think firstly of my mother and her thoughts. It made me think of me as a parent also. 'I don't enjoy being a mother' is such a great line. Seems so shocking sandwiched as it is between 'gawking faces' and 'calculating oneself'. I suppose that is the whole point. I look forward to reading more of your poetry on this site ...

Thank you

Fassbinder

Hi Fatima
Your work is ever-wonderful and you seem to be really going place with it since we first met you at the Wigan slam all that time ago.
Keep on doing what you are doing, and inspiring us all.

Isobel, thank you, you're so kind :)

Sophie, thank you, the journey back was shorter, and less stressful, no queues or delays (phew)!!

Winston, yes the trip was worth it, I have attended many poetry events before but I have never felt so welcome and so taken care of as I was in Wigan... what a fantastic group of people xx

Congratulations on winning the slam Fatima. It was well deserved and you gave a beautiful performance.

I love your profile poem. Indisposable sadness often comes with excess baggage - don't you think? Beautifully expressed.

Hi Fatima, I agree with Chris, the description of the sucking sound like a snail being unstuck is brilliant. I listened to your readings too, you have a lovely voice. I particularly like When Silence has Sound. All very haunting stuff.
