BEYOND

BEYOND

early bird
gets the worm
slept in
missed my turn
no vision
no foresight
dreams took
flight
like a
lead kite
narrow
view
didn't think
things through
bit more than
could be chewed
left with
chances few
no second
thought
in a web
caught
diving in
head first
crash...burn
or worse
never looked
before i leaped
landed in
too deep
nothing sown
less to reap
one step on a hill
too steep
two back under weight
of the heap
torment powerful
as a wave
darker than
a cave
to it was
a slave
so i
wrote
what
i know
let the
sorrow
show
revealed
heart
shattered
parts
teared
heavy
dammed
the levee
ignoring
taunts
handling
old haunts
fulfilling needs
instead of
wants
not only
moved on
but way
beyond
