I wonder if she knows

I wonder if she knows
what she has stolen from me
my hands tremble as I try and swallow and consume all the thoughts running through my mind
what she didn’t realise is that she drained me,
drained me of my peace, my soul.
he once sat in front of me, on his knees while tears ran down my face.
" ill never hurt you, your pain is over"
fast forward a year or so and its all faded away
as he walked in the door and the smell of her rolled off of him, it all came rolling back
I wonder if she knows how much she has made me feel worthless
worthless as I was nothing to him, the feeling of loss as he resisted lifting his eyes to look into mine
my chest dropping as I realise I am ...worthless carrying so much, so much of him
my child.
Our child I wonder, did She cross her mind. As she made love to my unborn child’s father.
yet again another chance at family torn away, the smell of her stained on him as I try and forget.
try and move on...knowing he has made love to her. laid with her the same way I do every night, giving him all of my love in every kiss.
while I’m not a thought in his mind I wonder if she falls.
I wonder if she falls in love with him just as I do, I wonder if she asked him to stay.
stay the night with her,
now he is hers, as I fade away to nothing, as I fade away from him
with her, my child I am something
what he has left me with.
I wonder if he knows, all ill ever love and trust is our child
the only trace left of our love that hasn’t faded away...
to the one that now owns him.

Great poem. Resonates so well as I'm sure it will with many.
As I see it ' if a man can be swept away so easylie by another: he was never going to stay for long. And she did you a favour by taking out the trash for you.
A real man can not be stolen.
You had a lucky escape and your pain will help you grow in ways you never ever thought was possible.
Do not bass your worth on the actions of another. For you are worthy of much more than he could ever offer.
Your amazing ❤❤

Your first poem on WOL. Welcome! This poem is close to the bone, one that a lot of women can relate to. Heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing. Poetry is a great way to process the pain, and by sharing it helps the hurt not be in vain. Keep writing. ❤️
