Poets from Marsden and Batley meet on the bench today

entry picture

Poets from Marsden and Batley will be reading together on Sunday 1 September outside Marsden Mechanics Hall in Marsden. The al fresco verse is part of a project organised by West Yorkshire’s Kirklees council called the Bench Poets, to promote ‘Happy to Natter’ benches. The focus of Sunday’s event, starting at 2pm, will be the bench outside Marsden Mechanics in Peel Street. All are welcome to bring and read their own poetry – especially children – or to listen. This event involves Marsden the Poetry Village, Marsden Write Out Loud, and Batley Poets.

◄ Quiet few weeks in Parliament? Why not stage some more poetry events there?
