Alternate Sexualities

When you exit the womb and enter air

The only 'given' beyond birth is that you will die,

Whether fate be fulfilled in minutes, or years.

In our current, human history

The 'given' already exercised was:

Your 'life' required both male and female.

From the moment of conception is rejection

Hard-wired into creation

And thus - the blind thrust of re-creation: SEX!

On such a basic, biological fact

It is understandable how some people

Find alternate sexuality very hard to accept

Emotionally and intellectually.

Physically, perhaps, not so difficult.

Sex can be life affirming to partners

Totally apart from procreation.

It's possible, sometimes, to feel

That we humans are just some major

Inter-stellar Experiment

By some Intelligence hugely beyond our own -

A toss-up between a 'STUDY' and a COSMIC JOKE!

Note the word 'feel', not 'think'.

And thus enters 'Religion'

In all its diverse manifestations

Pitching 'feel' and 'think' headlong at each other!

It would be interesting to consider our planet

As 'Brain' instead of 'Rock'.

Maybe it is: MIND.

So far beyond our present comprehension

That 'Feeling - Sensing - Intuition'

Could really be more accurate than 'Thinking'

And 'Knowing' a total crock!

What is more chilling

Than considering the life of insects?
