Fire and Brimstone

 

I ask, why should I always

Write ground-breaking stuff?

Poets should be free to write

Whate'er the want (so tough)

 

Sometimes I'll write cathartic

Just to ease my hurt

Nothing breaking ground here

Just common garden dirt

 

At other times I just might

Write to please myself

You choose to like it? OK fine

(If not, OK still fine)

 

But just to show I can break ground

Every now and then

I'll move some fire and brimstone from

My mind into my pen
