We dwell in a region of the world
Where the promises of our leaders to us are being
 tufted away by the wind
We claim to speak the truth coated with falsetto
Our actions do not compliment our words of principles,
discipline, culture and moral standards.
Lies have been placed on the throne commanding the truth as a slave
We are traded as schlock in the hands of the feeble 
We are buried in the depths of an unquestionable authority
We stay calm at the injustice proposed to us
Padlocking our mouth of freedom with money 
We smile while we suffer from our crippled system
We are blessed with the resources
Yet lack the intuition to maximise them to their full potential
Our system for survival is tampered with like game of thrones
Lives are slaughtered day by day
But we are silenced by the penalty of death
Each day we hustle to balance our lives with the equation of life
We are deft in our commitment
Hoping it will wake us from our bad dreams and changing them into  wonderful realities
We aspire to be a better country and pray for the fulfilment
We are Nigerians.
