Haiku X 10

(Right, never tried Haiku before so here's some I wrote today, hope they're ok)

(Soul)

A wandering soul,

Tortured by experience,

Finds peace in your arms.

(Compass)

A broken compass,

Knows not the way to true north,

But may yet find it.

(Tears)

Tears of happiness,

Taste exactly as salty,

As tears of sorrow.

(Student)

The way of students,

Is conveyed by the master,

But followed by both.

(Feather)

The drifting feather,

Swoops gently on a soft wind,

But still falls to earth.

(Harsh Words)

Sometimes a harsh word,

Is a kindness in disguise,

And sometimes it's not.

(Bones)

Bones broke in combat,

And bitter cuts of battle,

Must be healed by peace.

(Eagle)

The swooping eagle,

Sees and knows, only its prey,

And forgets its flight.

(Mist)

Early morning mist,

Nourishes the tall barley,

And melts in the Sun.

(Heart)

The tenderest heart,

Beats within the bravest breast,

And loves fearlessly.

Thank you Lisa, I'm touched that you were touched by it, and thank you to all who liked, considering it was my first go I'm pleased with how they came out.?

Wow Jason. Not just one but a veritable flotilla of Haiku's. they almost read like something from the book of proverbs or perhaps eastern philosophy. Excellent mate

Jason - You've hatched a top rate batch of Haiku. Remarkable good, especially as they are your first ever brood. A pleasure to read. ><>

Thanks Devon, very much appreciated, I've never done one before but once I got the 5, 7, 5, syllabic beat and the central cutting statement I could hardly stop. Really enjoyed myself with this.

You clearly understand both the spirit and difficulty (yet you do it with seeming ease) of haiku. My faves: "Compass", "Student", "Feather", "Eagle" and "Mist".
