THERE’S DAD…

“Hey Mum, there’s my Dad!”

comes the shout from the happy kid at home time.

“Hang on little Tommy,” calls his protective mum

as her ex blocks her out and goes on his way.

He turns his back on his ex, as once he did before.

But most devastatingly he ignored his only child,

young Tom, aged 8, and holding both hands

are his new partner’s kids.

Yes, maybe he does love them but how can he blank

out his only child, his birthright?

His ex can deal with it, yes she’s upset but mad

as hell at his behaviour.

Tommy cries for his dad and his mum holds him,

a protective shroud, needing support.

“This can’t go on, look at my boy,” she thinks.

“Ill pick up the phone and kick his ass…”
