Only Human

We can be cruel and narcissistic

We will try to vilify anyone we can

But we can also be kind and honest, giving love to those who need it.

We are beings

We see ourselves as powerful giants that rule the world.

When in reality we are no more important than atoms.

We are dust

We float through life trying to grasp at something that matters.

But in truth nothing really matters we all live we all die.

And for what?

A chance at life?

The bitter cold heartless creature that gives us joys only to rip them from our grasps.

Telling us to move forward without a second thought.

While grouping our way through the darkness not knowing what we will find.

Only hoping the tempest that the future brings will pass without scarring us.

And praying with all our being that we won’t be alone in the end.

Call me pessimistic

Call me a heretic if you so wish, but all I am saying is.

We are only human.
