EAST COAST SOUTHERNERS

 

East versus west,

They are very much different.

When put to the test,

Only one cares about the sentiment.

 

In my recent travel,

I have observed a different style.

I have written this to help unravel,

Why it is that they will talk for a while.

 

Listen to my words,

For you must know this.

They care about your bees and your birds,

You are always number one on their list.

 

The west will never compare,

Because we are about us.

Love for others is what southerners share,

Not the type of people to make a fuss.

 

Be careful when you talk though,

Because they can sure do that.

They see you as friend, never foe,

So enjoy your three hour chat.

 

You’ll never forget your encounter,

Engraved in your mind.

You might leave a little rounder,

Or even, a little bit more kind.
