The Wanderers (Bombus Lucorum)

entry picture

Two Bumble Bees came wandering by

On this frosty Christmas morning

Alighting on the cyclamen

This icy winter morning

Returning every noonday

On chilly January mornings

I dearly hope they both survive

Till warmer springtime mornings

◄ Ho ho ho!

They might survive but usually they raise dormant larvae to replace themselves. But pesticides are gradually diminishing their race.?

Thanks Jon and Big Sal for the likes and B S for the nice comment.
This really happened (last Christmas!) and I was so surprised cos I didn't know they were active in winter.

That last couplet sums up the hope for all life this winter.

Many cold nights and animals within them.

Subtle but emotion-provoking piece.?
