At The Poetry Factory

they're a bunch of lazy assholes

quality control is low

they sleep on the day shift

waiting for inspiration to hit

a man pulls on a wire

and a pen descends on a line

the minimum is a page a day

now they're striking for lower wages

they say the poverty

helps the soul

keeps their patrons

on a roll

one guy worked a triple shift

then went on to split his wrists

most don't last a week

the rest go to work for the police
