I Am a Winner

Preamble..Rhymers Club theme for the week winning or losing.

I Am a Winner

Winning is the theme that I am addressing,
I am under pressure and am not messing.
I wonder will I succeed,
in my efforts to complete this deed.

Hang on I think I have had a vision..
Was that the beginnings of a rhyme?
Maybe after all I will have time,
as long as it is not a mess,
I think we'll call it a success.

I think for winning there could be a meme,
or is that really not on theme.
Maybe it's all in my head,
conjured up whilst asleep in bed.

OK back on track..
Win or lose we can be proud,
as PC dictates this is now allowed.

Through gritted teeth we congratulate,
while that trophy we would love to take.
Smiling and grinning for the show,
crying inside I am sure they know.

While my children holiday in Spain
I am left at home to maintain,
three grandchildren in good health.
You see how I used last weeks theme with stealth.

I think I could be classed a winner
Or as my grandchildren chant
"Winner winner chicken dinner."

They hope.......

Thanks Becky...I found it so difficult to get my mum to mind any of mine..and the guilt when I did ask..so I decided I would try to help as much as possible with my own grandchildren. Spreading it around twenty of them and being fair is the hardest part..but I am just one little woman and I do my best.
By the way they are fairly wild at times so no it most definitely is not your children...?

You keep the kids while the parents go to Spain? I have difficulty persuading the mother-in-law to take both of mine at the same time for an hour! (Or does that just say something about my kids...)

You really are wonderwoman. They are soooooo lucky to have you as a mother + grandmother.

You've passed the pressure test with flying colours Taylor!

I'm in the same position as you this morning though to a lesser extent...looking after my 6 month old grandaughter...not a chore though, we love it. She's too young for chicken dinner though.

You are too kind Don thank you...Actually I was writing it whilst feeding the grandkids..chatting on messenger to another daughter in the process of giving birth to my 20th grandchild....chasing a huge crazy dog around the kitchen and generally tearing my hair out......great fun it certainly keeps me young in body and mind....xx

This poem Taylor sounds like it's inspired
Like many of mine are, also too
While sitting on that seat of poetic inspiration
The one we poets do call the loo

You hung on, then you had a vision (hallelujah)
A vision that you would succeed
And while under this hypnotic vision
You came, joined the speed-rhymers breed

From simply quite out of thin air
You appeared on the scene, can I enter?
In this week's rhyme theme winning/losing
End up winning and taking stage centre ?
