What's Going On? : An Adelaide Cinquain a la DM

Preamble

About a hundred years ago American poet Adelaide Crapsey created a 5-line verse called a cinquain (cin-cain) with line syllable count 2-4-6-8-2. She was inspired by haiku and tanka.

I have taken a light-hearted approach to her creation. I hope she would smile in approval.

Tommy's right...some of these formats are just daft...and to some extent I include haiku in this. Many people seem to think that any old 5-7-5 is a haiku. Now I'm no expert, but there's more to it than this, otherwise it's a haiku in name only... my name for which is haikino.

And what did you call your 67-line form Tommy? I couldn't see it listed in one of the all-time greats of poetic frustrations (sorry, forms). Perhaps the collators banged their heads silly trying to work out if it qualified
I'm gonna stick with Adelaide ?

Don I invented a 67 line verse that has 8 words per line that contains only 10 vowels per line and must use the letter "Q" 13 times in total, that if read upside down near the back door you will get exceedingly annoyed.
Do try it Don and I'll see you in the outpatients.
