It is so empty in the open

The doors are shut. The windows closed.

The keys misplaced, the lock is broken

The map is wrong, the stars are lost

I've tried so many times to find you

I've leaped so often with no hope

The faith that used to be so blinding

Has been replaced with rope and soap

I have been told so many fables

You have dispelled so many truths

I thought that courage turns the tables

But what it takes is lost in youth

It is so empty in the open

It is so lonely. So untrue

I thought my spells were all but broken

Turns out, my only fear was you.
