So There! #2

One blurt of temper and a hurt friend

Smashing the fun of playing together.

Regret pinching like a stone in the belly

'Sorry. Sorry!' But not said.

And still – still –

The jutting chin hand on hip

An insolent pitch of pelvis

'So there!'

Which feels really good

And awful at the same time.

It makes you think of mirrors -

Your reflection looking back at you

So keenly -

So knowingly -

And you shiver with a hint of fear

But no idea why!
