So There! #2

One blurt of temper

And a hurt friend

Smashing the fun

Of playing together.

Regret pinching

Like a stone in the belly

'Sorry. Sorry!'

But not said.

And still – still –

The jutting chin

Hand on hip

An insolent pitch of pelvis

'So there!'

Which feels really good

And awful

At the same time.

It makes you think

Of mirrors -

Your reflection looking back at you

So keenly

So knowingly -

And you shiver

With a hint of fear

But no idea why!
