BritPop Poet Reporter 8/6/18 – Forthcoming Interview

(reporting the latest in pop poetry)

 

We here at BritPop are excited. We have just been made aware

of a new poet landing on our fair shores (correction – computer screens)

 

He has rollicked into our poetical pastures bringing fresh air

and seeking intellectual interaction (worthy of an interview we thought)

 

Sources tell us he writes in rhyme (shudder)

and is often seen seeking inspiration by

jumping around in a strange 'hopping' fashion (??)

 

Poet of note, Mr Brian Maryon, sees great potential in this new poet

and has taken him under his wings. He should be in good hands

(sorry – under good wings)

 

Mr Maryon tells us he is a little rough around the edges

but given a brush of our British culture he should improve

and 'wear in nicely'

 

It is rumoured a request was made to borrow his 'topsy-turvey neurons'

but the requester was told they were patented and used

exclusively in creating his own brand of poetry.

(we are keen to find out more on this)

 

It is also rumoured he has been encouraged to roll naked in the mud.

Mr Maryon (his under-wing protector)is rumoured to have said

'no comment' (another interesting avenue for our journalist to explore)

We are frantically running around here at BritPop rearranging

schedules to bring you this exclusive interview with this new 'hopping (?)'

poet . We don't want another agency nabbing him first
