SUGAR RUSH

Sugar rush I love you so.

Eyes half closed

luscious longings half open

she holds a Magnum to her lips,

the trajectory planned in advance

sugar rush enhanced.

An ice cream lush

on the blinking screen,

sunburst cream

immersed in velvet

as rewarding as a placenta

a secret dream

known by psycho sexual boys

who know how to apply

market pressure.

Sugar rush I love you so.

If I remember correctly Martin the flake advert was even more directly concerned with mouthplay leaving little to the imagination - but us poets don't mind that do we? Thanks for your poetic response!

I agree with Brian in reliving the old flake advert in the field on a typical watery summers day.
Nice one Ray

Thanks for your comment Rachel. As with any experiment there are always opposing forces at play - in the case you highlight a balance of compliance and reliance. I'm afraid to say this but often our lives revolve around victor and victim too, opposite polarities. The irony of Magnum is that it is composed of large doses of marketing and poor quality ingredients .

It's nice to be back!

..seems we're really nothing more than computers waiting to be programmed. Just more proof that AI won't require a terrible amount of intelligence to overtake the greater portion of the populace--"the singularity is here"...

Good to see you around Ray,

Thanks David, nice to be back. I dutifully took pen and pad, but nothing happened in my head. That's ok because life flooded in. Yes, I get a bit pissed off with such obvious manipulation of the senses. Having said that, perhaps Nigella can do something similar.

I remember that Brian. The choccy used to drop everywhere when I tried it.

Thanks Hazel, I was pleased with that line actually! Perhaps we could have Line of the day - after seven days put them all together at random and make that Poem of the Week. Might just be good enough.

Thank you Anya - would that I could grace you with my words, your pleasure could be like the flight of birds. (eh?) My break was great, the weather was so good. x

Ta for the like Col!

Luscious longings half open - if we had 'line of the week' this would be it for me.
