entry picture

Two performance poetry stars will be appearing at a literary festival in Woking on Saturday 28 April. Elvis McGonagall, who has had two series of his sitcom broadcast on BBC Radio 4, and Susan Evans, shortlisted for best spoken word performer in this year’s Saboteur awards, will be taking part in the Poetry Day at the Lightbox literary festival.

The event, from 11am to 3pm in the ground-floor café of the Lightbox gallery, will also feature many talented and locally-based poets giving open-mic readings. It’s free, but a donation to the Lightbox is requested. The event will be compered by Greg Freeman, organiser of Write Out Loud Woking, and there are still a few open-mic slots left. Email Greg at gregfreem62@gmail.com if you want to take part. More details
