Wet day, rush hour, heading for the ring road

Short cut, rat run, cutting out the main road

Get into the wrong lane

Bumping on a low drain

Stop go, real slow, hitting every stop light

Hope I get to work before the boss gets uptight

 

Can’t stop, school run, hurry up the scallywags

Strap them in the car and drop ‘em in the zig zags

Check they’ve got their schoolbags

Help them when their coat snags

Watch them going up the path waving from the window

Smiling all the while cos they fill you with a warm glow

 

Night time, all home, kids are watching TV

Should be doing homework, get it done before tea

After they’ve been fed

Get them off to bed

Cheeky glass of wine then off to sleep by ten

Wake up in the morning do it all again
