The Poetry School is moving its offices and London classrooms from Lambeth Walk to a new base in London’s Docklands. From the beginning of its summer term, the Poetry School will be occupying a Grade II listed building at 1 Dock Offices, Surrey Quays Road, Canada Water, in Rotherhithe, south-east London.

Sally Carruthers, executive director, of the Poetry School, said: “We can't wait to welcome tutors, students and Poetry School friends to our new home, and hope that everyone likes it as much as we do. We have been incredibly fortunate to have the support of British Land with whom we'll work to create a community programme at Canada Water. British Land is working in partnership with Southwark council to develop plans for a new town centre in the area.”

The Poetry School was founded in 1997 by poets Mimi Khalvati, Jane Duran, and Pascale Petit. It also runs teaching centres at Manchester, Bristol and Exeter, and offers a master’s degree in Newcastle and London, and online courses.
