Another Day

Monday, work day,

Need to earn your pay day

Weekend was okay day

Wish it could have stayed day

Tuesday, blues day,

Seems like lots of queues day

Weekend is too far away

Enough to turn your hair grey

Wednesday, some say

Middle of the week day

It’s a gloomy grey day

Almost like it’s doomsday

Thursday, better day

It’ll soon be Friday

Watch the office clock day

Get us to the next day

Friday, last day

Put your pens away day

Then you say hooray

No more work till Monday

Saturday, weekender,

See your favourite bartender

Set out on a big bender

Wake up with your head tender

Sunday, quiet time

Sometimes hear the bells chime

But when it gets to bedtime

Wish you’d had more free time

Long week, looks bleak

Listen to my bones creak

Slave until the pips squeak

Let’s all retire next week

What do you mean "if only"? I retired over 4 years ago! ?

Thanks Colin.

nice one Trevor. I particularly like the 'day' rhymes for Monday to Friday and then the switch to different line endings for the weekend and the beginning of the new week. I think we can all agree with your last line - if only eh? Col.
