Afterimages In Space

A once-of-man absorbed subtle beams above
Igniting his ashen hollowed eyes..

Through box and garden centre granite stones he rose
As strained muffled sobs washed over his evanescence..

Alighting on tipped damp leaf air
Her sobs so elemental hushed his silence..

By the gravestone she wept an ingress bereft
She placed new flowers whispering..

His etheric self floated closer
A translucence of bubbles brushing blown..

Who is she..reanimated memories wracked
Her words flit soft stems elusive..

A squirrel stared fallen leaves drip-tapped
the woman tender confiding..

Her perfume scent the colour mauve
She entwined her candle flame his pane physique..

She glanced through his fractal frost dissolves
..and who is she..crying..for me..

She shall visit every now and again
Spilling afterimages over a well of mist..

Hi Desmond,

Thank you for your feedback, really appreciated. Glad it worked for you too - I was aiming to convey that feeling of the other-worldly: here and not here; the present absence and all.

Cheers!
Suki

Hi Suki
This poem gives me a lot of visual images, sort of there but not there, then there from a different angle, every time I read it. Great writing.

Hi there Ray,

Thanks so much for the feedback, really appreciated; it was a nice little exercise. Perhaps I have also been affected by a supernatural, autumnal vibe!

Rose, thanks for the "like" too!

Cheers,
Suki

I'm thinking strangely of Golom! Some presence flitting over a sort of Highgate cemetery scene with your ideas in its head full of purpose and curiosity - quite a challenge you have brought off. Or elements of Tim Burton.
Such a delight of subtle imagery and bravely different words Suki.
