G C D7 G

G, C, D7, G

It started with a droplet of rain
this old abandoned piano
would play again
Falsetto!
came a voice from the crowd,
a symphony of music, melody and sound
The second droplet of rain fell,
splashing onto the key,
this, is the intro of what was to be

G, C, D7, G
A solo guitar riff and a strum to accompany,
G, C, D7, G

The heavens begin to open
to a cacophony of rain, listen
the old abandoned piano, does play again
I watch from my window, enthused
to view this torrential down pour
nature producing, its own musical score
Drenched by the lyrics, soaked,
by the rhythm of rain, I dance to the music
again and again and again

A flash of lightning, then a roll on the drum,
the clash of symbols and
...." here comes the sun"

G, C, D7, G, C, D7 G.
the old abandoned piano,
plays this tune for me

Doo da doo doo

Love it - YES! - just love it. I wonder if the reader needs a 'bit' of musical background; but maybe not. The spirit would still come through strongly, regardless. It is the 'spirit' of the work that is so delightful.

great idea for a poem Philip. I'm imagining this piano on top of a mountain, left there after some drunken prank. Thanks for posting. Colin.
