You're Standing on the Edge of a Cliff: (spoken word)

You're standing on the edge of a cliff.

You look out across the trees,

The mountains look ready to consume.

Your heart is racing,

But this is what you want.

                                  ◇

You're standing on the edge of a cliff.

You look up at the empty sky,

Only a single bird soars.

You are familiar with the lonesome.

But you enjoy lonely, right?

                                 ◇

You're standing on the edge of a cliff.

You look down

And only two thoughts cross your mind:

Should I allow Gravity to embrace me the way it always has? Atleast it WANTS me!

Or should I press the restart button and find a way to coexist with the world around me?

                                  ◇

You are standing on the edge of a cliff.

And you couldn't be any more ready

than you are now.

So you close your eyes.

You pray to a God that you aren't even sure you believe in.

                                   ◇

You're standing on the edge of a cliff.

You hold onto the hope that the world could accept you. You hold on to the joy you once had but will never see again.

Your body starts to go numb.

You start to black out.

You lose your footing all too quick.

                                   ◇

You're now dangling for dear life on the edge of a cliff. You start begging out loud for a second chance.

Someone throws you a rope. You grasp it, tears rolling down your face. Gravity pulling on you begging for you to join him for dinner but you hold on tight! This rope is your second chance. It's your hope.

                                    ◇

You are heaved up over the edge of the cliff.

You immediately cling to the earth. Thanking someone of higher power for your life!

You stand up, look out over the trees and past the mountains.

                                    ◇

And you slowly back away from the cliff
