Infant woman

Loves kiss
Breathed life to you
Flesh bone skin and hair
Myself, partly reflected before my eyes
To nurture, nourish, cherish, rise
Doting, protecting, guardian I
Guiding, gently shunting you along
Playground laughter in my ears
Handstands, skipping, toss-overs you at play
Godly perfection, happiness unbound
Glory unspent, carefree with glow
Innocent as yet, as yet
Has to learn to know

A book just opened
It’s words sculptured, crafted, etched
from joy
Pages of brilliant laughter
It’s fragrance aloft
Rising, rushing, pure on high
Dancing dizzily, merrily unaware
Of the infant veil slipping
The cloak you adorn old'ly growing
As you to succumb to the age of
adolescent and Its knowing
A boat anchors away
Spin drifting into a vast ocean
Slowly maturing
