Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

Pictures of people having fun

Her phone a nozzle
Sucking mystery out of life

Thoughts a puzzle
Changing with her mind

Why bother
Stumped for a reply

We took a lot of pictures
On soon-deleted drives

Going everywhere
Imaging things no one had done

We never got far
For a lack of imagination

Eating a lot of things
Staying with us some time

We took a lot of pictures
In places standing in line

I thought of her today
A first in a long time

As that loveless feeling
Swept through my mind

Triggered moments burning garlic
A loneliness I recognize

In a picture perfect sunset
On Roosevelt, Sunday at five
