...and thus it goes.

LET ME EXPLAIN...

(and thus it goes. My brain interposing with drivel...)

and sometimes the words come out wardback and shus instead of 'thus' but should come out frontward...'Thus'

( I tire of this consious senility, this humour by disguise...)

...with lost inflection and missing adverbs splet not spelt...

( and so it goes...)

and...thus it goes.

Tommy, the struggle comes over, but you make sense. The layers of thought commenting on thought are clear because of the brackets. A 'conscious' senility is not the same as 'deliberate' .

Tommy, I really associate with this on many levels. It's a great little piece that really emphasises the struggles that some people have for part or all of their lives with language. I have a 9year old nephew who's left side of the brain was severely damaged by a bout of pneumocchial meningitis when he was 9 month old. And if my son had survived, I often wonder if he would be what the 'mainstream' class as 'normal' learning wise, or in any other way. My sister was dyslexic and used to write backwards from right to left in a jumbled up fashion, but has mastered the art of 'semi-intelligible' writing - she'll shoot me if she reads this, haha - no, she overcame it, and I have computer dyslexia - which I am sure will be seriously recognised in the not to distant future. You keep on 'languishing your anguage' :-) I thought that was hilarious too, thanks for your comment, but I'll bet that many won't see the humour and irony in it, had great fun writing it though, and that's what counts.

'I tire of this conscious senility'... and so do we, sometimes, Tommy, so do we. And 'humour by disguise' is no humour at all if no one recognises it. You write by code for an elitist reader; if that is your aim, so be it.

But that is a terrible thought - to be in 'conscious senility'. Who with intelligence would deliberately induce senility? The reality of senility is heartbreaking, especially for those who witness it and can do nothing. The victim is powerless to care.
