Why would it matter

Would it matter, would it matter at all
if one more life withers and falls?
Perhaps it would, perhaps it would not
if one more life ended now or later.
But if not, why roll that tongue to
condemn the already dead as weakling?
Never did you stand in their shoes
so proclaiming a self taught prejudice is your shameful act.
Why feel offended if truth be told
with words pinching like needles through the heart?
A life is a gift, alas the humor within the gift
lasted not long, so wrapping it up became death's fun.
Would you care to stand in my shoes
when I walk on paths of thorns only, seen and unseen?
Perhaps you would not even live through my
first short stroll, I bet you'd scream out of misery.
Did you contemplate your words before
you even spoke to me as if I were a doltish person?
Ohw yeah, you did not, because my life story never
mattered to you alas....
