we live at the bottom 

of a shaky structure

it’s stable here 

winds are softer

 

sun shines 

over the clouds 

stress dissolves 

under water

 

if everyone's a winner 

then we're losers 

take off your pretensions 

get comfortable

 

it only hurts 

a little at first 

then you find that 

brilliant freedom 

 

we live outside 

expectations

watching the arrogant slide 

on privilege 

 

the kitchen staff

know hot to eat

while dinner guests

vomit in their sleeves

 

one day we might
