Jumble

I the round peg, you the square hole
We hexagon our sphere & triangle our quads
Tumbling obtusely, acutely we're a polygon

To be regular, all the sides and angles must be the same
But these 2D shapes have curves
So as we rhombus through the parallelogram
Square, rectangle, trapezoid

We try to fly as a kite, 2 pairs of equal sides adjacent to each other.

But then we find there are only five platonic solids
& the faces of these platonic solids have to be regular and congruent.
So, I say, let's be regular and tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron.

How about a balbis?

A single line that is terminated by a secondary line at each end, both of which are positioned at right angles to the primary line.

Or a squircle? A hybrid, a fusion of circle and square?

I know, I know! We are a heptagram! A 7 pointed star!

Hmm,

& so we stumble in a jumble and eventually find what we are looking for.
We're just two blobs you and I, connected like wonky jigsaw pieces.

We're soft and squishy, we're robust and sharp
& we dance together in our prism, throwing out awesome shapes.
