Fearful of a ‘mass destruction’; nuclear-bombs and ‘arms-reduction’.
Despots (’power-mad’), dictating, murdering and postulating
Super-powers show some heart, whenever ‘profit’ plays a part.

When I was just a little lad my life, at home was fairly sad.
The air was fraught with sibling-slaps; the squabbling and frequent ‘scraps’!
But, pity anyone who tried to hurt our family, from outside.
For then we'd (naturally) unite;  protect our own, throughout the fight.

We, Humans are a curious race, who search for life in outer-space.
Send messages; use powerful lens, to try to find ‘celestial friends’.
But who knows where such actions lead; all Aliens must, surely feed.  
And (when they learn, we taste like pork) they, each may bring a knife and fork!

Perhaps, then such a ‘wake-up call’ could save our species, after all.
We’d soon forget internal wars - united in the ‘Greater Cause’!
