Strange ground

He opened the door
I looked to the floor
I was in my country
That is, technically
But it felt so different
A moment in front
In a time where finally
I was to potentially
See what it looked like
If to his world I did hike
He led me through
To a place I knew
There was a change
And it felt so strange
Nothing had altered
My mind had faltered
I had been here before
When I'd wanted more
Now I was confused
About why I had used
So much of my mind's time
Expecting it to be sublime
When in all honesty
It was just so unholy
It felt so strange
I had to change
I could feel it in me
I had to set him free
We're not meant to be
