motive

salivation

bared teeth

and shining glints

from zeroed widened eyes

speak only momentarily

my anti-sentimental

intentions--

determination

sparks fear

and I know well

how the electric air

piques my skin

and tells me

in dark and silence

how best to move in.

Hey, Suki! No need to worry about me..I manage to keep my more base instincts under a pretty tight rein these days. Glad you liked it, sir.

Dark, stark and kinetic. I can sense the racing pulse - moving, circling, homing in in to do the deed.

I don't want to get on your bad side!

Hey, Colin..I do like to come at things from irregular angles when I see an opportunity, however I'm not sure my attention span is quite long enough for stealth without serious guidance and some fine tuning. Though, I was once told that I look like the cat that just nabbed the bird.

Hi, David..I wrestled somewhat with the title. Sometimes, aggression just feels like the only natural reaction--there are simply times when you don't want your intentions mistaken through the exchange of too many civilities, if you know what I mean. In my experience, motive really only comes to mind once the deed is done and you get the pleasure of rethinking it all and how it could've gone better. Anyhow...

And you, Ray..I really like the word "intent". Maybe that should be included in the title. Anyway, I think most of us (many of us..some of us..a few of us?) reach many points of no return--that place from which you can never go home. Otherwise, maybe we would revert repeatedly to situations and habits that spell trouble for us.

Thanks to each of you for your comments and for giving me this food for thought on an otherwise boring Friday evening.

Refined and powerful, a definition of intent, and perhaps could be the point of no return - which on rare occasions we might experience.

Always a pleasure to read you elP.

I think you have invented the stealth poem elP.
