Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

The night is young

I'm all dressed up tonight and waiting for my friends
Wearing little black dress and sporting my high heels
We'll be going to bar for some delicious deals
To celebrate a raise until the drunken cleanse

Since it's a summer's night, I'll grab a smoke outside
Going on the sidewalk, I encounter a gang
They ask me some questions, they continue to hang
Decide to check my phone with a look horrified

My friends had accident, and the driver is hurt
A tear is forming deep as I need to leave fast
One of the men will drive to radio's newscast

I give a big thank you, heading in with alert
All my friends will survive, but not the night wanted
Caressing each of them was a task undaunted
