It takes one shattering Trump Card

entry picture

Hapless residents stranded in immigration queues,

Stripped of their dignity and rights

With one swaggering signature.

Green Card turns to Red.

Knees buckle, hearts thump, tears roll down frozen faces,

babes in arms oblivious of an uncertain future.

Protective parents plead for compassion and fair play.

Hoping it will stamp out isolation and hatred.

Cut to the ivory tower

where the high priest of discrimination and division

waves menacing fingers. It’s them and US.

Masked in the delusion that he can make

his empire eminent again.

Time to pray for a new passport of peace.

Some clever wordplay Raj. I like the green card to red. One thing's for sure - Trump has inspired many poems and I suspect there will be many more to come. Strange days indeed. I think he has a few more cards up his sleeve yet to play. He certainly enjoys the game. Take it easy. Col.
