No pankies

We like each other

but our friendship

is a hanky-panky free zone

No hankies

and definitely no pankies

She's retaining her panties

We trust each other

and our friendship

is a lust-free zone

No lust

I'm not after her bust

We've got it sussed

My friend is great

And our friendship

Is a cherish-filled zone

She is lovely

But no more than cuddly

Making each other feel bubbly

We esteem each other

and our friendship

is a steam-free zone.

We don't get steamy

Nothing seamy

All she does is …….see me.

Agreed with everything said here.... I also really enjoyed hearing it read at the tudor on Thursay, as did the rest of the audience! The rhyming pattern and fun came over very well in performance. Good one Dave!!

Some women would be more jealous of this relationship than any casual 'hanky panky' no matter how explicitly sexual. The interpersonal connection is so vital. The poem is good. I don't think it is a joke at all. I am sorry there was the physical contact of even 'the cuddle'. There ought to be the kind of male-female friendship that never notices a table between them.

But not as much as 'no pankies' Antonionionio...
Some lovely play in words there Dave - and very well balanced and constructed. Loved hearing this at the Tudor on Thursday - such a light hearted and fun piece - we need more like this.
