Re-union

Re-union

Fried garlic, lemon, sea-salt on the air,

Coffee brewing , sunlit room , morning, you, there.!

Black curls glistening, wet from ocean rush,

Fiery droplets  your body spangle, as  in naked hush

You go to the window,   step slow and certain,

And across  the blazing blue ,draw a bamboo curtain.

Shadows stripe and tiger us,  to the narrow bed

We stalk,   no sign giving of who leads, who is led.

Eyes upon each other,  we mouth  savage  smiles,

For we were separated by more than  travelled miles.

That reckoning of what was owed, and what was due,

We tear to little pieces , from this moment all is new.

Kisses smother grudges, salve bitter exile’s scar,

Until at longing  last we have made near, from far.

Superb! I love the sentiments behing this and it's so savage and quite raw emotions. I think i lost the subtlety that Isobel speaks of somewhere in the excitement of the re-union. :-)

Like this one Stephen - you sense the history, feel the desire - imagine the joy of such a reunion - all done very subtly.
