Full English Brexit please

forget the baguette

bratwurst has never come first

for independence we constantly thirst

 

on a wave of euphoria

we resurrected Victoria

so full English breakfast for old time's sake

 

we never really liked being slaves.

still feel part of Europe?  don't despair

though our chances are scuppered

and the cupboard is bare.

 

The romance is over

but the scent lingers on

though feathers are ruffled

in the Brussels affair.
