The great flood

The great flood of decade happened few weeks ago
Washing away our house and all our belongings
But we weren't inside it, so we survived mornings
Up on the tallest tree, until rescued cargo

The painful experience of traumatic ordeal
Is not losing your home, but knowledge that nature
Powerful in its doom, a destroying creature
That shows no great pity for the holy appeal

We will rebuild a house, to live back in comfort
But our home is washed up, and our security
Always on high alert after obscurity

My kids will know of flood, and it's memorable port
They will gain memories of this strange new normal
That now belongs in hearts after damaged formal
