lay my neck on this block of wood but make it one clean swing
[i lay my head
on the chest
of
god]
[but i hear
[not a][ ]
[heartbeat]
forihave
[gone]
[so very
far]
but further
[further
i must go]

It's hard to explain why but this reminds me of the moments before losing consciousness..a sense of everything becoming far away and a pulsation that resembles your own heartbeat in your ears..of atmospheric haze and enclosing tunnel vision. Maybe, much as traveling from one realm of consciousness to another.
It has a meditative quality, to me.

I do like this Stu. It is a simple enough concept and no doubt as always you have a deeper sense of what it might mean to you. I just like the idea of it. A sense of deafness or darkness pervades for me.

cheers guys. this started off as a huge piece but i realised most of it was just accompaniment for the lines that have remained so i just scythed the lot and this is what was left.
as far as i know its about being reckoned with, whether it be mankind (the 'i' here is really 'us') or personally.
